2020 at rexs.io

2020 was a special year for us – rexs.io was founded in February this year. So how was the first year of our activity? We invite you to our summary of the last months in rexs.io.

First steps

rexs.io technology roots in R&D work performed by our scientific team presented to the wider public at 2nd Productive4.0 Consortium Conference and Workshops in Budapest. Our first, pre-alfa demonstrator has been developed at Diffusion Digital 2019 in Berlin in October 2019. Rexs.io team has been awarded the first prize in 2 tracks as well as Bronze Runner-Up prize in the general classification.

This way, one year ago during this event, our company was born.

We didn’t have to wait long for the first achievements. We were selected as one of 10 companies for BlockStarts’ Prototype stage. BlockStart is an acceleration program designed to help blockchain/DLT startups to introduce their solutions to the market. You can read more about it on their website.

We joined the third cohort of Outlier Ventures Base Camp as well. Outlier Ventures is Europe’s first venture firm dedicated to blockchain technology. It was the beginning of a journey and 3 intensive months.

12 final applications out of almost 800 innovative ideas in the areas of Health, Work, Entrepreneurship, and Society were selected in the competition Aplikacje Jutra (Applications of Tomorrow) organized by PFR. REXS.IO with a blockchain-based data management technology project was selected to the group of the best teams whose technological solutions can help fight the effects of the crisis. We started the stage of workshops to prepare us to refine ideas and create a professional investor presentation.

Our CEO, Krzysztof Radecki, together with Mark Simpson and Rory Unsworth participated in Episode 20 of Insureblocks’ Open Source podcast, hosted by Walid Al Saqqaf. It is a weekly chat on the Insureblocks Online Community.

In 2019, during Diffusion Digital 2019, rexs.io was born. This year we were attending this event once again, but this time in a different role. Krzysztof was talking to Ryan Rugg, Madeline Bailey, and Jack Prescott in a panel about Trust in the New Normal and the role of blockchain in the process of building digital trust just a few days later.

We finished our acceleration and took part in BlockStart’s 1st Demo Day “Shaping Europe’s #Blockchain Future”. As one of top 5 startups, we presented our MVP and the pilots we have implemented during the program.

As a finalist in Aplikacje Jutra competition, we participated in workshops, organized by Polsku Fundusz Rozwoju to work on our business model and final presentation.

rexs.io was among the five start-up finalists of Corda Challenge: Insurance that have made it through two rounds of judging. We are now building our prototype on Corda to be in with a chance of winning the challenge.

Our CEO, Krzysztof Radecki, had the opportunity to discuss how AI, ML, or blockchain are changing our reality. Krzysztof was speaking at the Polish-American Innovation Bridge. He took part in a panel on the use of new technologies to solve pressing problems faced by companies and institutions around the world.

An interview with Krzysztof appeared on the event profile, in which he talks about the biggest challenge we have to deal with in times of an epidemic and how blockchain can help solve this problem.

What a year! We were trusted by 5 acceleration programs and we had the opportunity to work on our product with specialists in different sectors, from healthcare to insurance. Check our product development journey on our blog!
